Digital-assets exchange Coinbase Inc. has unveiled a new service designed to help merchants accept cryptocurrency payments, according to a recent blog post by the San Francisco-based company. The service, called Coinbase Commerce, will allow businesses to accept payments in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Litecoin. These payments can be deposited directly into the merchant’s digital wallet.

Coinbase Commerce is simple to set up, requiring just an email address and a phone number to get started. This makes it highly accessible for businesses of all sizes looking to expand their payment options to include cryptocurrencies.

The new product can be easily integrated into a merchant’s existing checkout process or added as a payment option on e-commerce platforms. This allows businesses to offer a seamless cryptocurrency payment experience to their customers without disrupting the existing checkout flow.

One of the first platforms to use Coinbase Commerce is Shopify, an e-commerce giant that had already been accepting Bitcoin payments. The integration with Coinbase Commerce is expected to make it easier for Shopify merchants to offer a wider variety of cryptocurrency payment options to their customers.

With the growing popularity of digital currencies, Coinbase Commerce provides merchants with an efficient way to meet customer demand for cryptocurrency payment methods. As more businesses adopt cryptocurrency, services like Coinbase Commerce could play a key role in the future of online payments.

the service, Coinbase said.

Other merchants already taking cryptocurrencies are Overstock.com, Expedia Inc. and Microsoft Corp.
