Internet Society opens Canadian chapter

Internet users in Canada who value the Web as an open forum for free expression now have a national organization to promote their interests.

The Internet Society, an international non-profit formed in 1992 “to assure the open development, evolution and use of the Internet for the benefit of all” on Monday announced a Canadian chapter that is welcoming members.

The chapter was unveiled at the MaRS Discovery District, a not-for-profit corporation in Toronto that aims to commercialize publicly funded research in medical and related technologies. more
